Welcome to Bures CEVC Primary School
Excellence is at the heart of our village school.
We have high expectations of all at Bures: pupils, parents, staff and governors.
Within a strong Christian ethos we believe in growing caring, creative, curious and cultured members of society. We nurture a special interest in every pupil within our innovative curriculum: whether it be an academic, sporting, artistic or musical passion.
We believe in Having a Go and Never Giving Up.
A message from our Headteacher.
Bures Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School is a warm, inviting village school set in the heart of historic Bures. It is our aim to ensure that every child receives the education that they deserve. Our school vision, summed up by our motto Never Give Up, encapsulates well that which we are aiming to accomplish.
Here at Bures academic excellence goes hand in hand with personal success. Be it an interest in sport, music, or art we want all children to grow to be well rounded individuals.
If you would like further information or to arrange a visit to the school, we would be delighted to hear from you. For details on admissions please refer to our admissions policy. Please contact our school office on 01787 227 446.
There will be a presentation of your child’s work led by the LAB (Learning at Bures) group. Parents are warmly welcome. This will take place in the school hall and work from each year group, Nursery through to Year 6 will be on show.
The Bures Baptist Church will be taking our assembly today in the School Hall for all the children to enjoy. This takes place fortnightly throughout the term.
Come along and see our Bures Christmas Tree located in the St Peters Church, Sudbury. The Christmas Tree Festival is a lovely show of trees all decorated in various ways from local organisations and groups. The Festival will run from Wednesday 7th through to Sunday 11th December.
At various times throughout the day, the children will have the opportunity to make their Christingle. Years 1-6 will then take their Christingle to St Mary’s Church during the afternoon for a blessing.
The Christingle service is a wonderful family friendly service held at St Mary’s Church. The children can bring along their Christingles (there are always a few spare Christingles should you need one!) and learn all about the significance of the orange, the ribbon and of course the very important sweets!
The children will be having their dress rehearsal during the morning and then will perform their Nativity in Church at 2.30pm. Parents are welcome to the afternoon performance.
